WHAT IS HOT YOGA?

POURQUOI CHAUD ?

The heat helps increase flexibility and get rid of toxins through sweat. Certain postures even allows cleansing of the veins and arteries. Hot yoga is also famous for weight loss. It stimulates the organs, glands and nerves by bringing freshly oxygenated blood to the whole body, thus ensuring the proper functioning of all internal systems (immune, nervous, digestive, cardiovascular, respiratory, hormonal, etc. ). This physical and mental discipline works  muscles in depth, increases strength and improves posture in general. It is aimed at both women and men of all ages, all levels and represents real sports training. Each posture stretches and strengthens muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints thus preparing the body for the next posture. Hatha Yoga provides most of the postures, however we give freedom to our teachers to teach according to their experience, style and vision of yoga. So no course will be alike!

The classes end with a deep relaxation in Shavasana. This posture  allows you to release the remaining tensions,  to absorb all the benefit of the practice and to take a moment to congratulate yourself. A Hot Yoga session is a real challenge for the body and the mind. If you think you are too nervous, not flexible enough or too active come and give it a try, you will be surprised!

WHAT TO DO IF YOU CAN'T SUPPORT THE HEAT?

For some people, high body temperature may seem difficult to bear at first. In no case should you force yourself to practice the whole series if it is too hard. The heat liquefies the blood, a process which the first 3 times can create discomfort. If this discomfort is present, it's really time to take care of yourself. And note that your body will get used to it after 3 classes, and that it will allow you to surpass yourself in complete safety. When you feel discomfort, you can sit down for a while before resuming. It is not recommended to leave the class, however you are free in our studios, so go step by step, simply by listening to yourself. Little by little, you get used to the heat and soon, you can't live without it. It allows you to progress more quickly, and brings a well-being that you will never have imagined!

HOW TO DRESS ?

Light clothes are required, many customers come in short clothes in order to be as free as possible, do not hesitate to bring your shorts and your short top, the light is dimmed.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DRINK?

We recommend that you hydrate throughout the day before your class, during and after each class, in small sips, little water and very often! Water drunk only in the class will not be enough to replace the minerals lost through perspiration, so be prepared, and take the opportunity to become aware of your normal water intake in a day. You should consume at least 2 liters of water per day in general. Also small techniques such as adding saline solutions  and minerals sold at the store could help you better hydrate your body.

HOW IS THE YOGA ROOM HEATED:

Infrared heating

The main effect of infrared rays is to increase the temperature of what they reach. In the case of the sun for example, those are the rays that warm us! Infrared lamps are based on the same principle. They temporarily increase the temperature of the area towards which they are directed.
All virtues of infrared lamps derive from this ability.

The increase in temperature does in effect have consequences for the operation of the heated zone.
1. Blood circulation intensifies: the area will therefore be better irrigated, the tissues repair themselves better, toxins are eliminated, etc.
2. The muscles relax: contractions and tensions due to stress disappear.
3. The skin sweats, which also helps eliminate toxins. The advantage of infrared lamps compared to other methods is that the temperature is perfectly controlled. We can therefore heat very gently. Infrared lamps are used to solve certain ailments.

We can distinguish two main types of virtues studied for infrared lamps:
1- Skin care

n this area, we are not looking to heal, but to beautify: the skin exposed to infrared is supposed to help with a more youthful appearance. Most of the time, light is used in addition to another approach, to increase its effectiveness.

2- The fight against pain

The other major use of infrared is to relax, relax muscles and soothe pain. Infrared lamps are used, for example, by physiotherapists to fight against fibromyalgia, arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis, all diseases that lead to chronic pain. In daily use, the heat delivered by infrared helps relax muscles that are too tight and therefore painful. For small shoulder pain after a day spent at the computer, for example, this can be sovereign! If you are a heat lover, place yourself directly under the lamps or radiant plates. If you are still apprehensive, place yourself out of their reach close to the windows and doors of the room. In any case, our approach is to use heat as an aid to the body and not as a challenge. Listen to your body and you will be fine.
